Dreaming of a Painting?

  • The Commission Process.

NOTE: It is assumed that I will paint the commission in my style.

    Step 1; Initial enquiry
I respond to your enquiry by email to establish factors such as the size of the piece (I will give you some options and prices), the expected timeline (from both of our points of view) & the desired outcome. Once I have this information I'll be able to give you a quote for the commission (including delivery costs) and outline the next steps in the process should you agree to proceed.

    Step 2; We meet up.
Once you have decided that you'd like to commission a piece we arrange a time to meet* to discuss in more depth what you are after; colours, the 'feel' of the piece, composition options. If I don’t have any photos from you at this point, you may like to share some photos with me that you’d like me to work from.
Following this meeting I will confirm to you a summary of what has been agreed and ask if you'd like me to proceed. At this point you would pay a 50% non-refundable deposit.

*If we live a distance from each other we can meet via Zoom.

    Step 3; I start painting!
During the process I will keep you updated with how the painting is coming along with progress photographs; this also gives you a chance to raise any issues/changes or suggestions you may have. (This is the fun part!)

    Step 4; Final viewing
You will be able to view the painting in the flesh (or via video call/photos from a distance) when it is nearing completion; it gives you the opportunity to let me know if there are any minor adjustments to be made before I release the piece.

    Step 5; And it's finished.
The balance of payment is due and the painting is delivered.

**Please note: If your commission is painted using oils it may take a couple of months to dry to the point where it can be shipped.

Prices vary depending on size and materials used, but as an example - a 30cm x 30cm pre framed canvas would be around $450.
