Before living in Derby, we lived in the East Kimberley (Kununurra) for 6 years. Over near Lake Argyle (which is a huge body of clear blue water) the stunning yellow Kapok flowers bloom. Actually we have them here too! The old timers used to use the fluffy insides of the Kapok pods to stuff mattresses.
