It also symbolises for me the journey of Greg & Linda to relocate to Derby & engage with the community, & Linda’s courage to explore & grow as an artist. My parents, Pearl & Bruce Smoker, were missionaries in Halls Creek & Fitzroy Crossing. As a kid we drove up & down to Perth a few times in an EH Holden. My mother planted a row of boab trees around our old house in Fitzroy. Good memories.”
